We talk a lot about leadership in terms of strategy, structure, and execution.
But what about the inner skills—the ones no one teaches you but are essential for leading powerfully?
What about confidence in a boardroom where your voice shakes?
What about visibility when you’d rather hide behind the slides?
What about trusting your gut in a room full of louder voices?
These are the invisible skills of leadership. And they’re the reason why so many brilliant, capable professionals stay stuck.
I know this intimately—because I was one of them.
For years, I was the go-to, the behind-the-scenes expert, the one others leaned on for execution—but not the one out front.
Why?
Because I was what I now call a Silent Striver.
I had the drive, the vision, and the credentials—but I struggled to be seen, to speak up, and to fully own my presence.
Until I created my Power Persona.
This wasn’t a mask or an act. It was a framework that helped me step into the most aligned, visible, and authentic version of myself—when it mattered most.
And that framework has become the foundation for my 6-module course:
“Building Your Authentic and Powerful Power Persona.”
It’s designed to help leaders shed self-doubt, overcome fear of visibility, and lead with presence and power.
So what exactly do you learn in the course?
Here are the 10 unspoken—but essential—skills every leader needs to embody:
1. Recognizing Your Inner Critic
Before you can lead others, you must confront the voice in your head that tells you you’re not ready, not qualified, or not enough. Have you identified your inner critic? Whose voice does it sound like? Is it hindering you in any way? You may have learned to ignore them but that doesn’t mean they are not still controlling your actions, interactions, and reactions.
2. Rewriting Limiting Beliefs
The problem with limiting beliefs is that we all have them, but don’t believe that we do. To identify those limitations, you might want to start listening to the words you choose to speak when someone suggests something out of the ordinary. It’s beyond valuable to learn how to shift the invisible scripts that keep us shrinking, over-apologizing, or waiting for permission to lead.
3. Naming and Owning Your Natural Strengths
Are you aware of your strengths in your Cognitive, Affective & Conative mind? Using powerful self-awareness tools in 3 parts of the decision-making mind, like the Kolbe A™ Index and Predictive Index®, you’ll uncover how you instinctively take action and lead best, without forcing it.
4. Creating Your Power Persona
Have you ever created an Alter Ego for yourself? Building a bold, intentional version of yourself that you can activate in moments that matter, based on truth, not pretense, is a super powerful tool for any leader stepping into bigger opportunities.
5. Practicing Leadership Presence
Executive Presence, gravitas, these are opportunities to show up powerfully when you walk into any room. How do you currently step into high-stakes rooms, meetings, or stages? Now, imagine stepping into those spaces with calm authority, even when nerves or doubt try to take over.
6. Using Physical and Mental Anchors
We often take for granted mental anchors; we all have them. Have you ever heard a song on the radio and it transports you right back to that moment in time, you knew exactly where you were and what you were doing, especially if it was connected to something emotional, positive, or negative. Utilizing this tool of anchoring, you can build a persona with either a physical or mental anchor that will build triggers in your subconscious mind to transport you into the leader you desire to be. Consider using things like your voice, breath, stance, or a symbolic totem that helps you embody your strength on demand.
7. Trusting Your Intuition
What are you listening to? Have you become oblivious to your own inner guidance system, instead preferring the loudness of outside voices and circumstances? Your intuition is your North Star guidance system, built exclusively for you. Tapping back into that will help you in your leadership journey in ways you can’t even imagine. Discover how to listen to your inner knowing and act on it with confidence, even when it defies logic or loud opinions.
8. Speaking With Boldness and Clarity
How many times have you wished you had spoken up? Finding your powerful voice is sometimes challenging; you don’t want to come across as a bully, but you also don’t want to fade into nothingness when you speak. Finding the right balance is crucial, and if you ever wanted to be like E.F. Hutton, “When E.F. speaks, everyone listens”. You need to practice using language and tone that reflect your true power, without shrinking, softening, or second-guessing your value.
9. Turning Confidence Into a Daily Habit
Too many times, leaders wait until it’s too late to act in the way that allows them to show up powerfully, then Monday Morning Quarterback the event in their minds over and over again about what they shoulda, coulda, and woulda said. Instead, try a different approach based on preparation and changing tiny habits. With this program, you will create daily micro-practices and develop a 30-Day Power Plan; you’ll make confidence your default mode, not a one-time fluke.
10. Embodying the Leader You Were Meant to Be
Becoming the leader you desire to be. By the end, your Power Persona journey, you won’t feel like it’s a stretch, as a matter of fact, you won’t be able to tell the difference between you and your alter ego anymore. As Archie Leach once said: “I pretended to be somebody I wanted to be until finally I became that person. Or he became me.” ~A.K.A. Cary Grant
